"Accountability - The Ally of Good Government"

A tour of nine contrasting views depicting the initial stages of cemetery clean-up at one of Center Township's three cemeteries.

Before clean up work was done on brush along the fence row at Carmichael Cemetery, it was impossible to know a cemetery even existed beyond the tangled jungle of underbrush. One of the first steps in cemetery clean up was to clear the fence lines and remove the rank vegetation, weeds, and vines.

Here, you can see the marked difference between the way the cemetery looked in late-summer 1999, and how it looks in the summer of 2001. As you progress through this virtual tour, you will notice similar change throughout the cemetery.

The extent of the fence row removal is obvious in this view. Initially, bushes and weeds extended four to six feet from the fence line.

Here, the clearing of brush is seen dramatically.

The clearing of weeds and brush has led to a more open and respectful feel for the cemetery.
